The DFIPO’s first major event and the official kickoff of our foundation will be on September 15th 2011 when the IPO will be performing, with Zubin Mehta conducting, as an integral part of the Gergiev Festival in Rotterdam! This has been achieved entirely through our efforts. The program will (under reserve) consist of the following classical pieces:
- Webern: Pascaglia 6 pieces
- Debussy: Iberia
- Mahler: Symphony no.5
The concert will be preceded by a special dinner during which the foundation will officially be inaugurated. After the concert we will have a chance to meet Maestro Mehta and members of the Orchestra and we plan to present our first check to the IPO at that time. Needless to say, it will be a memorable evening.
